For 2010, the Volvo S40 sedan trim levels change. The model is now available as the entry-level 2.4I, as the 2.4i Premium, and as the range-topping T5 AWD. The front-wheel drive T5 is no longer offered. Both the 2.4i Premium and T5 AWD can also be optioned with an R-Design package.
The 2.4i models are front-wheel drive, and use a 2.4-litre five-cylinder engine with five-speed manual transmission or optional five-speed automatic. The T5 AWD uses a 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder engine, with six-speed manual transmission or optional five-speed automatic.
Features on the 2.4i include 16-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, electronic brake force distribution, brake assist, comfort chassis, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, rear fog light, T-Tec upholstery, driver’s height adjustment, whiplash-reducing front seats, 60/40 split-folding second-row seat, power windows, CD stereo with auxiliary input, cruise control, locking illuminated glovebox, rain-sensing wipers, and tilt and telescopic steering wheel.
The 2.4i Premium adds 16-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, alarm system, front fog lights, headlamp washers, power sunroof, heated power-adjustable seats, driver’s side memory, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, high-performance sound system, Sirius satellite radio, auto-dimming rearview mirror, compass, Bluetooth connectivity, garage door opener, illuminated vanity mirrors, luxury floor mat set, auto up/down windows, retractable heated mirrors with puddle lamps, and trip computer.
The R-Design package adds 17-inch alloy wheels, active headlights, chrome mirror caps, rear spoiler, skirt package, sport aluminum inlays, sport pedals and instrument dials, and a navigation system.
The T5 AWD builds on the 2.4i Premium and adds 17-inch alloy wheels, blind spot information system, dynamic chassis, active headlights, aluminum interior accents, folding front passenger seat, and heated leather seats.
The R-Design package adds leather and Sport Flex-Tex upholstery, chrome mirror caps, rear spoiler, skirt package, sport aluminum inlays, and sport pedals and instrument dials.
